The legislation of Ukraine defines the concept of non-profit enterprises, institutions and organizations as those that do not have obtaining profit as their main purpose, but primarily engage in charitable activities, patronage and other activities provided for by the law.

Non-profit organizations, in particular public organizations and associations, may operate with the status of a legal entity or without it. A public association that has the status of a legal entity is a non-commercial society, so obtaining profit is not its primary purpose. Charitable organizations carry out their activities exclusively with the status of a legal entity.

After registration, non-profit organizations with the status of a legal entity are obliged to comply with the norms established by law, including confirmation of information with the state registrar. This means that starting from the following year, within the month following the date of state registration, a registration card of the established form must be submitted to the state registrar in person or sent by mail (by registered letter) to confirm the information about the legal entity.

This information is submitted in the form of a registration card according to approved Form No. 6, to which a document certifying the authority of the person submitting the documents is attached.

Where to get Form No. 6?

  1. You can obtain it from the state registrar. He will give you a sample from which you make a photocopy.
  2. Or you can download this form from the Ministry of Justice website.

How should the documents be prepared?

The legislation sets certain requirements for the preparation of documents to be submitted to the state registrar. These primarily concern preparation in the state language, typed or handwritten but only in block letters, with the signature of the authorized person.

Attention! The registration card must be completed exclusively in accordance with the requirements of the law.

Where to submit the documents?

The procedure for confirming information for public organizations and for charitable organizations differs slightly.

Public organizations confirm information with the executive authorities responsible for registering such organizations, and must do so at the location of the public association.

Charitable organizations confirm information with state registrars in accordance with the location of the charitable organization, in the manner prescribed by the legislation on state registration of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.

For the above-mentioned non-profit organizations, confirmation of information with the state registrar is an integral part of their lawful activity, therefore such confirmation is mandatory! By the way, other legal entities should not forget about this either.

Confirmation of information with the state registrar is a somewhat troublesome procedure, but nevertheless necessary so that no difficulties arise later when working with the state register.
