Ukrainian legislation understands investments as a wide range of objects regardless of the form of their implementation. This may be a contribution in kind to the authorized capital or a bank deposit. Registration of foreign investments is necessary to protect foreign investors by the state from changes in legislation, encroachments by state authorities or expropriation. The investor is guaranteed the return of investments and compensation for losses in cases established by law.
Another reason to register foreign investments is the possibility for the investor to obtain a residence permit if the invested amount exceeds USD 100,000.
Investors may be individuals or legal entities – non-residents, foreign states and international organizations.

- providing consultations to the non-resident about the process of registering foreign investments in Ukraine;
- preparation of a package of documents that comply with Ukrainian legislation, and submission of the documents to the relevant registering authority;

Documents required for the registration of foreign investments:
- information notice on the contribution of foreign investments;
- if investments were made in the form of a contribution in kind to the authorized capital, copies of the charter and other founding documents, a copy of the state registration certificate, accounting documents confirming the acceptance of the assets on the balance sheet, and copies of the customs declaration are required;
- if monetary investments were made, a bank statement confirming the crediting of funds to the account, a payment order or a SWIFT document are required;
- for an investor that is a legal entity, legalized copies of documents confirming state registration are required;
- for an investor who is an individual, copies of the passport and tax identification number are required.
The registration period for foreign investments is 15 days.
