Land transactions: gifting in Ukraine
In accordance with legislation, in Ukraine it is permitted to buy and sell land, to gift or leave it as an inheritance, and to acquire ownership through privatization. Land may be state-owned, privately owned, or municipally owned. Local self-government bodies or state authorities determine the designated use of land, the main types of which are: agricultural land, land allocated for development, forest and water fund lands, land for health, recreational, nature reserve, historical and cultural purposes, and industrial land.
Using land in violation of its designated purpose may lead to the imposition of a fine or to deprivation of the right to use the land. If it is necessary to change the designated use, you must apply to the appropriate authorities, since the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has established a special procedure for such an action.
