In 2014 ‘Soviet’-style driver’s licenses will cease to be valid
The capital’s traffic police inform all drivers that, starting at the beginning of 2014, driver’s licenses issued in the USSR will cease to be valid and they are urging all drivers to exchange their old driver’s licenses.

The capital’s traffic police inform all drivers that, starting at the beginning of 2014, driver’s licenses issued in the USSR will cease to be valid and they are urging all drivers to exchange their old driver’s licenses.
The press service of the Traffic Police Department reports that, in accordance with point one of section five of Ukrainian Law №5492-VI dated November 20, 2012, to replace an old driver’s license it is necessary to apply to the Traffic Police registration-examination office with the following documents:
- Ukrainian passport and, if available, a copy or the original of a foreign passport;
- A medical certificate of the prescribed form from a medical institution, certifying fitness to operate a vehicle in accordance with the category;
- Driver’s license of the “Soviet” model.
- The driver’s examination card;
- 2 color photographs 3.5 x 4.5 cm.;
- A receipt for payment for the form (blank forms) of the State Traffic Police.
