Taxi license

The State Inspection of Ukraine for Safety on Land Transport carries out licensing in the field of road transport.

Required documents for obtaining a transport license:

• application;
• information about the mandatory material and technical base;
• information about owned and leased vehicles;
• information about the presence of special equipment (for taxis);
• documents confirming that the applicant has previously provided domestic transport services for at least 3 years (for obtaining a license for international transportation).

In addition, a taxi license is issued only if the vehicle is equipped with the following special devices:

• on the roof – an orange beacon;
• on the windshield in the upper right corner – a light with red and green lights;
• a working taximeter;
• checkerboard patterns of squares on the left and right doors of the vehicle.

Taxi passenger transportation can be carried out both domestically and internationally.

Passenger transport license

Transport companies and private carriers need a passenger transport license to be able to provide certain services. This concerns domestic and international transportation by buses and passenger cars on demand.

Legislation provides organizational, qualification and technical requirements for providing these services. For example, for bus routes over 500 km, as well as routes over 250 km that go beyond the locality and involve transporting children, it is mandatory to dispatch two drivers on the trip.
