Assistance in obtaining a driver’s license

UNFORTUNATELY, DRIVER’S LICENSE SERVICES ARE TEMPORARILY NOT PROVIDED BY OUR COMPANY.

According to the current legislation of Ukraine, driving vehicles is possible only with a national driver’s license (driver’s license) of the appropriate category.
Driver’s licenses are issued on the basis of a medical examination, completion of training at driving schools and passing special exams at the State Automobile Inspectorate authorities. The specifics of the process of obtaining a license largely depend on the categories included in the license.

In most cases, obtaining a driver’s license is divided into 3 stages:

  • Training at a driving school;
  • Passing the exams at the State Automobile Inspectorate (GAI);
  • Obtaining the license.

Before enrolling in any driving school, it is worth checking for a license from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, as well as an accreditation certificate from the Department of the State Automobile Inspectorate of Ukraine. Training at a driving school usually lasts 2.5 – 3 months. Before going to a driving school, it is important to remember that despite completing training, at the time of taking the exams at the GAI, it is necessary to reach:

  • 16 years – for category A;
  • 18 years – for categories B, C;
  • 19 years – for categories BE, C1E, CE;
  • 21 years – for categories D, DE, T.

Upon completion of training at a driving school, passing internal exams is mandatory, based on the results of which, according to the CMU Resolution (“On the procedure for training/retraining drivers of vehicles” № 487 of 20.05.2009), a driving school certificate confirming the completion of training and retraining of vehicle drivers is issued, which remains valid for 10 years. During this period, driving school graduates have the opportunity to successfully pass the exams at the GAI without repeating the training course.
Passing the exams in the GAI bodies is carried out only on the basis of the fact that the examinee belongs to the territorial unit to which the MREO is assigned. That is, taking the exams to obtain a driver’s license is possible at the MREO at the place of registration.

If you take the exams independently, you must appear at the GAI with the following documents:

  • application;
  • two color photographs sized 3.5 x 4.5 cm;
  • passport or another document confirming place of residence;
  • certificate of completion of the educational institution (driving school).

The exam at the GAI consists of 2 parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part involves computer-based testing, under the rules of which you must answer 20 questions in 20 minutes, and no more than 2 mistakes are allowed.  Upon successful completion of the theoretical part, access to taking the practical exam is granted. It is worth noting that in case of failure, the theoretical course can be retaken many times, while the practical course must be passed within three attempts.
After successfully passing the exams and paying the fees for the production of the driver’s license, you must appear at the MREO within 5-7 days.

As a result, you should receive:

  • driver’s license;
  • certificate of completion of the driving school;
  • examination card;
  • medical certificate.
