The Verkhovna Rada voted for a provision allowing small business entities to carry out operations involving the purchase and sale of funds in the currency of foreign states outside banks, using software-technical self-service terminals until January 1. This information was announced by the chair of the Committee on Customs and Tax Policy of the Verkhovna Rada, People’s Deputy from the presidential faction Nina Yuzhanina, when she presented in the Rada session hall Draft Law No. 1088 of 28.11.2011, which contains provisions amending the Law of Ukraine “On the use of cash registers in trade, public catering and services”.

We remind readers that by the same bill the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada adopted a decision allowing entrepreneurs whose annual turnover does not exceed 1 million hryvnias to conduct operations without using cash registers. This applies to payer groups 1-3 of the single tax. Prior to the adoption of this law, all single tax payers had to begin the use of cash registers from July 1, 2015.

According to the committee chair, under this bill, small business entities when carrying out all operations for the purchase and sale of monetary funds in the currency of foreign states, if such operations are performed outside the cash halls of banks authorized to carry out these operations, commercial agents of authorized banks, financial institutions not related to the banking sector that accept cash for further transfer, may use software-technical self-service terminals. This provision of the law will be in effect until 01.01.2016.

At last it has happened! Is it really possible to buy currency without the mandatory presentation of a passport? Have we really been relieved of this burden and can we stop carrying our passports constantly, risking being unable to perform an operation when necessary? Although, knowing what is happening in our country now and the chaos reigning in all spheres, it is hard to believe. Probably, for some time, until the directive reaches all institutions, it is still better to carry your passport with you.
