Documents are submitted by one of the child’s legal representatives. Confirmation of the child’s citizenship is carried out by the relevant migration service authority at the place of residence. If the migration service authority issues a positive decision, a certificate is issued indicating the confirmation of the child’s citizenship — Ukraine. The certificate also records in Ukrainian the surname, given name and patronymic, the basis for confirmation of citizenship, the child’s date and place of birth, and their sex.
Such a certificate is valid for: three years for children up to seven years old; for children older than seven years — until they reach 16 years old.
